Goodwood Festival of Speed, um evento que dispensa apresentações

No fim de semana passada decorreu mais uma edição fantástica do Goodwood Festival of Speed, um evento que dispensa apresentações, estando muito bem integrado no seio do mundo automóvel como um dos melhores eventos que existem, uma vez que junta os melhores exemplares de automóveis e motos da história, assim como personalidades de renome. Este ano a marca central do evento foi a MG e a sua celebração do 100º aniversário.
No campo da disciplina rainha do desporto motorizado, a Fórmula 1, a Red Bull levou até ao evento uma série de automóveis do passado e presente, assim como os seus pilotos Max Verstappen e Sérgio Perez. Além desta marcaram também presença as equipas da Alpine, Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG e Williams. Para finalizar o campo da Fórmula 1, há ainda a destacar a piloto Lia Block que conduziu um Fórmula 1 pela primeira vez em público.
Michael Dunlop, piloto lendário da Isle of Man TT também marcou presença, assim como John McGuinness e Peter Hickman. Outra lenda do desporto motorizado que também marcou presença, mas desta vez ligado ao NASCAR, é Richard Petty, que venceu o campeonato por sete vezes, juntando-se ao seu Plymouth Superbird com que competiu em 1970 e que fez a subida pelas mãos do seu filho Kyle. Obviamente que muitos outros pilotos marcaram presença, mas iriamos estar em encher o artigo com nomes. Ainda assim podemos destacar Mick Doohan, Elfyn Evans, Damon Hill, Jacky Ickx, Sebastian Ogier, Emanuele Pirro, Kalle Rovenperä, Carlos Sainz e Kevin Schwantz.
Não poderíamos terminar sem destacar os automóveis que foram apresentados na edição deste ano do Goodwood Festival of Speed, como a Ford Raptor T1 que irá competir no próximo Rally Dakar, o renovado Porsche 911, o Land Rover Defender Octa, Pagani Huayra Epitome, o BMW M5 e a cereja no topo do bolo o Red Bull RB17.
